FNHF Impact Areas

The First Nations Health Foundation (FNHF) is the philanthropic partner to the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA). Together, we support the health and wellness of First Nations people and communities across BC.

To guide our partnerships with donors and funders, we have organized the FNHA’s wide range of programs and services into seven broad impact areas. Each represents opportunities to invest in community-led and culturally grounded solutions that honour the strength, knowledge, and resilience of First Nations people and communities.

At the heart of every initiative is the understanding that culture is healing. First Nations knowledge, traditions, and ceremonies are essential to restoring and sustaining wellness. The FNHF partners closely with the FNHA, Nations, and communities to ensure that their voices, leadership, and priorities shape the work we do.

Our seven impact areas reflect the breadth of programs and services that the FNHA offers to support the health and wellness of First Nations people and communities across BC—on reserve, in rural and remote communities, and in urban and away-from-home settings.

Across all impact areas, we are committed to fostering safe, inclusive, and equitable health systems that honour First Nations people of all genders, sexualities, and identities, including 2S/LGBTQQIA+ individuals.

Every initiative is grounded in First Nations culture, community engagement, and self determined approaches, ensuring that investments today will strengthen health and wellness for generations to come.
