Design by artist and designer Sa Tsi Naziel, Wet’suwet’en:

“These designs represent giving care. Drawn are hands giving care (represented by a heart), yet it can also be seen as receiving care.”

Sa’tsi Naziel was born a two-spirited person in Smithers, British Columbia. They were raised part time in Lheidli T’enneh territory in Prince George and on their traditional Wet’suwet’en Nation’s Territory. They are part Wet’suwet’en on their father’s side and part Chilean and Mapuche on their mother’s side. Because the Wet’suwet’en are a matrilineal nation, they have been adopted into their mother clan the Gilseh’yu, known as Big Frog Clan. They are a part of Unist’oten, also known as Dark House. Sa’tsi has completed their first year of two-dimensional art, an online course offered by the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art. They are interested in creating art pieces for their community and believe this will enrichen the hearts of their own and other nation’s people. Sa’tsi currently resides in Prince George, properly known as Lheidli T’enneh Territory.
